Are you sure he is doing psychoanalysis? He just understands why some use some phrases and arguments and he explains why these can be biased.
Yes it is really annoying to talk with someone who knows all of that, as he is probably also mapping your behaviours and provide accurate coutners.

I had big fat exams in general psychology, mental health protection etc. that equalize to 3-4 bologna couses each. Plus had interviews with clients, had some practice in mental health care, not extensive but enough. So dont school me. Social workers deal with all sorts of people on daily basis and can take additional theoretical knowledge when needed.
