Replying to my own post I can confirm the Fraggers were the cause of my freeze. After some heavy save scumming I managed to take them down in one turn (so they never got to act) and had no problem finishing the rest of the mission after that. Before that it locked up everyone it was the fraggers time to move.

R.I.P. Melee Technicians. Was fun while it lasted.

Had that exact same thing happen to me last night. Overwatch shot to the head on a mindflayer. Lock up / endless waiting for enemy turn.

Update to my previous post about corrupt savegame in tactical:

I’ve narrowed down the issue to this: If I kill a Scylla, save and try to load, the savegame is corrupted. Before I kill her I can save and load without issue. If I paralyze and capture the scylla I can avoid the corrupted savegame, it just makes things much hader. Dunno if it’s tied to the mindfraggers that pop out of her carcas or Scylla herself.

Fixed a bug where the game could freeze if a soldier died during an overwatch shot

I reported this via F12 but this is still happening post patch.

Synedrion maps and a few other special ones have major performance issues, in particular when you goto the top level (zoom out and pan over map).

This issue really should be consider a major and important, thus fixed as priority because It can make the game unplayable in these areas at higher resolution! (I play at 4k personally)

PS. I’ve also had situations where specific levels on Synedrion maps don’t correctly display their transparency to see the stuff inside a building etc, such as the entire level being stuck in some odd transparent or opaque mode.

I had no problems after 60 hours before patch. After patch I have AI lockups.
To note: I am not on the living weapons mission nor are there any mind fraggers on my map. It simply locks up on AI’s turn. Animations carry on etc: But AI never finishes it’s turn.

Still no function to sack unwanted solders? Scrap unwanted aircraft/APCs?

Very god! Is there any work being done on the SYNEDRION maps as they lag so bad they are practically unplayable, all the other maps work fine!

Is there any way to roll back this clusterf*ck of a patch. 63 hours played with a few graphical glitches and the weird mouse bug, annoying but playable. Now after the patch it’s lockup after lockup and the game is totally unplayable.

Werid to say, but i had none issues with the game at all until this patch.
Now ever ending of the turn has a 50/50 chance to get me into limbo. Just waiting for the enemy to end their turn forever.

Sure would love for that not to happen anymore…

A word from the devs on the AI loop issue would be appreciated, I’m pretty sure they’re working on a fix but the fact is the game is currently unplayable, every time i hit END TURN I cross my fingers hoping that the next turn will actually arrive. When it doesn’t (which happens every second or third mission) the savegame will be corrupted, forcing me to play from the start of the mission again. I will put this game on hold until this is fixed.

So you applied a patch which made the game unplayable for nearly all people. Any Chance you give us information? Are you working on fixing this problem? And maybe the other ones too? So that we get a game that works? Or at least has less bugs than the Backer Build (which was much more stable to play then this).
