Hello everyone. Yesterday we were talking about diplomacy. Today first look at mission types, intelligence and danger mechanics. So let’s look at how they will work in JUNE 2047. Again there is no proper name for the mod yet. It will be choosen in the future. If you have some ideas, please leave them below. And if you have stumbled here for the first time, not knowing what this is all about, here are some links:

Other:
-
missions types will have lesser restrictions toward maps on which they can be played than in the base game
-
each mission type will have multiple variants, and each variants can have even their own subvariants
-
each mission will have significant influence on diplomatic scope
-
missions will spawn in subregions points (with sign “?”)
-
missions will spawn in rounds and phases (more about it tomorrow)
-
missions will be generated randomly from mission pools
-
clicking on subregion points will open a window with specified information about available mission and other requirements or possible effects
-
type of mission should have their own graphical icon on the globe next to the subregion (similarly like current class icons for recruitment work), if Intelligence level for given subregion is above None
-
missions have 2 characteristics: Intelligence level and Danger level
Intelligence mechanics
-
Intelligence will be based on current situation in given subregion
-
Intelligence can be gained by different ways
-
Intelligence will be affected by diplomatic scope
-
If player Intelligence for given subregion will be high, they’ll get additional information what potential threats they can expect from given mission, what types of enemies, what type of map it would be, what is the objective
-
If Intelligence is low player will have limited information
-
If Intelligence is none, a player will know nothing about mission itself. They can land in destroying Pandoran structure mission or they can land on defending region population mission or every other possible mission without knowing beforehand. They will not know enemy strength or types or any other information.
-
a player will not be able to have high Intelligence in all subregions, most of the time
-
a player will not be able to have high Intelligence in all regions, most of the time
-
pandorans create structures in subregions of given PR
-
the more pandoran structures are in given subregions, the harder will be to keep Intelligence on reasonable level in that subregion
-
Intelligence will be affected by multiple other factors
-
Each subregion will have different Intelligence Potential, meaning how probable is to roll a mission with maximum Intelligence for a given mission
Danger mechanics
-
each mission can spawn with different Danger value, making them easier or harder to do
-
Danger value goes from 1 to 5
-
Danger of the mission will be visible from globe scope, next to (?) subregion point on the globe, (similarly like class icons are showed in base game next to havens) but only if Intelligence level for given subregion is above None
-
the more pandoran structures are in the subregion, the higher chance for Danger to be high
-
the Danger will be affected by multiple other factors
-
Danger doesn’t necessarily mean there will be more enemies in given mission.
-
It can mean there will be certain additional surprises or additional requirements or additional enemies that will make mission harder than otherwise
-
5 level Danger will mean also that there is possibility of an ambush
-
Each subregion will have different Danger Potential, meaning how probable is to roll a mission with maximum Danger
That’s for today. Tomorrow will look how rounds and phases work. One more thing, recently someone commented that these are some ramblings of a fever dream. I’ll leave you with a quote:
“The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried”
Yes. We’ll do some mistakes. We’ll have some defeats and misfirings. But, we’ll improve, we’ll keep going and make this mod happen. Cheers!
