Corrupted Horizons - Specimen 0 Capture Required?

Greetings,

I finished the mission to capture Specimen 0, however I failed to realize my containment was not quite finished being constructed yet.

I did see new research become available, but my question is if I did not technically capture it alive due to the lack of containment facility.

Am I out the ability to research a permanent solution to solider corruption?

If you have research then everything should be fine. Game is full of such logical inconsistencies.
