Reminder: 1.9 Polaris is out tomorrow and will invalidate existing saves

Phoenix Point 1.9 Polaris and Year one Edition are releasing tomorrow at 10 AM PDT (7 PM in Central Europe). Info about Polaris update is here.

Currently, we have two saved game files, one for the Geoscape and one for Tactical missions, which causes some development challenges for the team. On December 3rd, we will be releasing a new content update that will merge those saved games into one file, effectively invalidating any previous save games. Those purchasing Year One Edition or starting a new game post-patch will not be affected.

If you have a campaign you’re currently playing, and you don’t want to lose it, please don’t update until you finish that campaign. You can disable automatic updates in Epic Games Launcher. If you want to be 100% sure that your game will not update (some people complain that it is updating even when automatic updates are disabled) do not start the game via Epic Games Launcher but run the game from the .exe file on your PC (without using Epic Games Launcher). Go to where your game is installed and run PhoenixPointwin64.exe. In my case it is: D: Program Files\Epic Games\Phoenix Point\ PhoenixPointwin64.exe

Hi dev team.
Unfortunately your warning was not posted on Epic, so I did not suspect anything foul when Epic auto updated PP to 1.9.
Only after I could not load my saves did I find out that you made a non backward compatible change.
Now it seems I need your help to revert to patch level 1.8
I really do not want to loose the results of my 50 hrs game time.

Or, you can provide a small utility to convert the save from previous to new format…

Hi,
Same thing as Tamas. At least 100hours on this game and saves are unusables ? There must be a solution to fix this ? I realy can’t believe that developers capable of creating a so good game can’t find something to solve this problem. Please do something. A patch to return to 1.8 version as suggested by Tamas

Regards
Rx

too late… I lost all my progress, starting from scratch…

I did not do the update, but if I start the game from the normal desktop icon the shit epic store pop up and want to update. I stopped the request, but then pp is not starting at all without update.

Solution: Seems to work if I start “PhoenixPointWin64.exe” directly.

Hi all…

I have the same problem!!! More then 190 hours played… and I was REALLY looking forward continuing the progress…

This would really be disappointing if not fixed…

PLEASE make some patch for these users like me and all the others

These kinds of news should be sent in game…
I learned about it yesterday. After my game already patched…

Not everybody checks on their games on social media or in their forums…

I guess, since everything is set up to work with launchers like Epic or Steam there is no way to get back to 1.8?
