As far as I remember, PP had Linux version planned, back at backer days. Later it was suddenly dropped. I hope it will re-appear, as I use steam on linux too.
Wait, wait …
- Sucess on Kickstarter
- Epic deal and initial bare game sales
- Several DLCs released as additional source of income
and developers did not get paid until recently? Shame of modern gaming industry.
As someone who dropped the game after the 1. 0 release and is waiting Steam release to get back, are there any other bosses besides Scylla? It was talked during initial campaign of several huge bosses, and even behemoths
Depends how do you look at it,
-
You can count only Scylla and Yugottian entity http://phoenix.server317.com/Final_Mission (rushed end game monster, my hated and boring nemesis.l have started to think of game as preparation for boring fight with it recently) as real HC bossess. Once you get mark of death and 8 trained soldiers, you could even drop Scylla, as it is possible to kill it in single turn.
-
You could count several types of Chirons http://phoenix.server317.com/Chirons as bossess, even Sentinels and Spawnery even being too passive. http://phoenix.server317.com/Other_Pandorans.

Hell, one could argue Syren is a mini boss, especially before you have advanced snipers and granade launcher, it changes game dynamics as it enters, especially 2 or 3 at once.
-
As game progressess, heavily mutated champion early game enemies have so much advanced weapons and armour that they are mini bossess to early ones - e.g. Tritons have laser sniper rifles, healing of organs and great HP base and base enemies are heavily armoured, with return fire viral weapons and acid launchers!
But I agree some vicious creatures could be there in best Terror from deep and terror missions XCom manner. Sorry, dont have Legacy of Ancients DLC.
Thanks for the reply, for it is disappointing to know there is only a proper boss and the final one. Evolved tritons and sirens are, at best advanced enemies, for a proper boss should be unique and with a certain personality. X2’s Chosen are the most obvious reference, even if they were a pain in the ass, a player would really get a sense of satisfaction in bringing them down. Maybe Snapshot wanted to evolve the idea of a boss, not as an unique enemy, but an evolved set of characteristics for an existing one.
I dislike the last one, as I find its combo of attack and defense overpowered, without much action. Has a nice look only.
In Blood and Titanium DLC there are Forsaken and Pure = Mutated and Cyber enhanced enemies, quite tough and tricky for ordinary enemies, but dont have bossess or higher use (or bases).

Too bad, they are quite tough and refreshing enemies.
Votable ticket to expand them

Tommorow is the day for Polaris update, Steam release as well as Year one edition on Epic. Hope it will bring more balance and more contents As I now own Living Weapons, Titanium and Blood and legacy of ancients, I wonder will I with Polaris update be equal to what is now “Year one edition”?
Of all advertised features, alien mutations steel needs to get some AI, closer to what is advertised
Mutating Alien Menace: Face down an ever-changing alien threat that adapts to your tactics and offers no respite even as your team becomes more powerful and technologically advanced.
Pretty much yes. Main in-game menu is different (Yours will not say Year One Edition). Year one edition also contains the digital extras ( e-book, artbook etc.)
Thanks. So its closer to “platinum” and such editions that included extras
Good news is Polaris will update enemy tactical AI
AI optimizations and improvements will be part of tomorrow’s 1.9 Polaris patch.

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough, I wanted to say that the cash thrown at Snapshot Games by Epic and now Embracer should make the payments of their staff much less of a worry than before.
I would count on Steam release too So hope “future is brighter”
I looked through this thread and others to see if someone else already asked this question, but no luck - I missed the emails with the Steam backer key survey and it is now closed. Is there another way of getting the Steam key now?
PM @Valygar and he’ll deal with it for you.
But you’re only eligible for the Steam key if you were an original Fig backer.
