Yeah it’s clear, but also dependent of two factions, new stuff for me or I failed notice.
I think today’s nerf of Sniper abilities and armour-piercing weapons is making laser weaponry a more viable option.
Synedrion’s SR redundant super-accuracy suddenly becomes appreciated for reliably hitting body parts. And after a body part is disabled with Weak Spot perk it can be hit again with nice and accurate laser AR for 180 points of damage.
I also think that the Dash nerf also nerfed the shotguns as it wouldn’t be so convenient to Dash + double shot as before.
For dash, I was more for the:
- move 2AP for 1AP/2WP
- or limit dash to 1 use (push to get into position or GTFO)
(I did start a Thread about the insane time shifting speed our operatives have)
It seems like we have lots of abilities, all costing at least 3WP. I’d rather have some abilities in the mix that have a lower magnitude but cost less WP.
From the text todays patch looks absolutely awful, and adds to the problems not solve them, but I will have to try the patched game to be sure.
From what I can see they have not addressed any of the major problems.
I’m currently trying to get extra information - but it looks like there has been an undocumented change to the dynamic difficulty - so the game should be easier (at least on easier difficulty settings). However, a game that is already in progress won’t have it’s current difficulty adjusted.
Nerfing assault rifle while still not fixing the Synedrion power research bug.

It’s a lot faster and easier to change a number in a file than to track down the cause of a bug in thousands of lines of code. They’re also the responsibilities of different people.
Tracking down and fixing bugs takes time.
Just ask the modder that fixed it shortly after release
Fixing one single bug is fine if you’re not too bothered about all of the other bugs it may cause.
It really can’t be that hard. The calculation is simply applied before anything else. It’s the wrong order. If it really is that hard then you have a much bigger problem with your code base in general than those bugs …
The reason I am so bothered about that particular bug is that its trolling new players all the time.
One thing you might wanna consider:
How hard is it to disable that particular research so that players stop falling for it ? There are ppl capturing Scyllas putting hours of work into this just to realize that their containment facility had no power due to this bug and so there is no captured Scylla. Just one example.
How much longer do you wanna keep this up ?
+1 on that one. I have fallen for this myself. Another example is keeping one of your team in one base to heal and rest just to discover that medbay and quarters were disabled when you need this team to act. This is not a minor bug and mod seems to have fixed it without adding any bugs.
Patch moves the game in the right direction: You will have to have different weapons in a squad, and soldiers with different class combos and abilities selected. Also team work should have more impact now
When there is only one obvious choice for weapon per soldier class and only one obvious class combo and abilities template, it makes game less interesting.
I would like to see logistics of transferring soldiers from one base to another (obviously it will take a few in game days to avoid abuse) and resource trading automated. Flying ship around to move soldiers is not hard, not fun and doesn’t add anything except tedious work.
I’m OK with that, it’s just that Piranha is used because the others were totally useless with all the armor the Pandas have in late game. Now Piranha will also be useless.
I was already favoring the shotgun for assaults, had Piranha on 1 just in case for longer range. I guess now it will be full shotgun. The dash nerf won’t be too much of a problem since I was already limiting myself to a single one (except that now second shot if needed needs to be pistol).
I wonder if those statistics came from players that just don’t know better - which probably is the bulk. I’d guess most players are not on the forums or on reddit or whathaveyou …
In my first play through I kept using Assault Rifles till the end as well.
That’s I’m worried about . Anyways, wish the devs provide player with rollback patch. With my current squad and all had been build, the game progress felt lot more difficult (it’s rookie!)

Nope, they nerfed AP too. So it’s 20x4 - 80DMG. 40DMG/1AP
