My infiltrator panicked and lost control of his drones - on that turn they then went on auto, and started moving around on their own - this was expected behaviour (maybe), as if the infiltrator had died.
However, when he recovered, he didn’t regain control of the drones, nor were they on auto. The drones could be selected, but they were unable to move. The only option was to detonate.
