BB3 Please keep the Open Inventory vibe

Love this game, even in pre-Alpha - it has SO much potential. ;0)

One of the things I most like about the game so far is the non-restrictive nature of the Inventory system.

It’s great that I can choose to equip my Squaddies with whatever weapons I like - so a Heavy can carry a Sniper Rifle slung over his shoulder for long-range encounters and the only penalty is Encumbrance and the fact that his targeting reticle is much less accurate than the Sniper’s. This is brilliant - it allows you to fine-tune your squad to do whatever you want it to do, and means that a Squaddie doesn’t become useless the minute his weapon is damaged: he just picks up another one dropped by a squadmate, as you would in ‘real life’.

I also like the non-restrictive nature of Encumbrance. If you want to load up your squaddie with loot from crates and have him stagger back to the Evac Zone, you can. You can also opt to add that one extra item that you think he really must have, and opt to take the movement penalty it inflicts - so much less frustrating than the usual ‘Computer Says No,’ of most games.

Keep it up guys. This is going to be awesome!

Well, that was Xcom 1994 for style as opposed to class oversimplification.

I think you mean “opposed”

Yeah, thanks, corrected. Not a native speaker + sometimes I use auto-correct without much thinking!

I 100% figured that was autocorrect. I just recently moved to Samsung from Motorola phones, and the autocorrect/keyboard is just different enough to trip me up all the time. When I first started, I’d have had to proofread and fix at least 6 or 8 things in this paragraph.
