This piece of armor looks like it should grant some “Feel No Pain”, Strength or at least Speed bonus to it’s wearers 'cause of all the tubes.
But, in fact, it has twice lower defense stat that of the basic Acolyte pants and the same Speed bonus, additionally reducing characters Accuracy. It doesn’t make any sense to choose them even for berserk-type characters for the weight of 1 doesn’t play a big role for Strength-based soldiers.
Perhaps, +1 higher Speed bonus will grant them at least some value (and +2 - a real value), for berserkers have barely no real chance of getting into close combat if they are not assaults as well.
