I went back pretty far to try but every time I do the first archaeology mission it hangs. I get the screen to produce all the stuff I used, click return to geoscape and get an ocean view of the earth. Nothing else happens and nothing gets out of it. Upon closing the process I did notice the GPU taxing at 99%+. So think it could be related. Since my gaming laptop recently crashed I am using an old desktop (and I mean old!!). 1st gen i5, 32g RAM and an ancient 4 gig GeForce 740. Everything else in the game ran smoothly. And I did see a couple year old post with someone having the near identical issue. Wondering if there is a known fix or if you need the bug report etc… as mentioned in the thread below.
