Turrets and Drones: Where does the credit go for damage and kills?

Does the unit deploying the Turret or Drone get the XP for damage and kills done by the Turret/Drone?

Be kinda cool if turrets got their own XP, levels and skill trees.

Now that control of turrets and drones has changed, I would really like to see the tech & infiltrator receive XP from the use of their remote weapons.
