Understood, but for me this is unacceptable and it should be too for a developer who respects his players / customers.

I understand your frustration, but given finite resources and fixed deadlines, Snapshot has to make choices. I suspect that if they had devoted resources to converting save game files, something else would have been sacrificed, angering a different subset of players.

I sincerely hope that this explanation is the correct one, which would also explain that my old saves became usable again over time, and I could deal with that if it is finally the case here too. Obviously, the pressure I put in my commentary is also calculated to achieve this end. Otherwise, I consider my complaint perfectly legitimate.
