There is something wrong with explosives and acid

Just a simple no win scenario : a lightly/normal armored soldier hit by a winged Chrion with 300+ Acid damage just firing once. The soldier is dead regardless of what I do. This game braking.

Hi!

Did this happen while playing with the latest patch (Danforth)?

Can you say something more about how it happened?

Was it an attack with 3, or with 5 projectiles?

Yes, it was the latest patch. Don’t remember exactly, usually I’ve seen 3 projectiles, but when I encountered that problem I think they were more (like 5).

that’s true, if you don’t use Nanotech tech ( Motion Detection Module), also happens with Jormungandr Cannon (Acid) , one shot,
if you don’t have a technician LV 5 , nearby, forget about the soldier

And the soldier didn’t have any bionics, right?

Looks like the double explosion bug, if it was more than 300 acid damage. IIRC, each projectile does 10 acid damage, so with terrible luck if all projectiles hit the soldier, and each projectile covers all of the body parts you could get to 6x10x5=300, but no more than that…

Did you report it via F12? If it happens again, you should, as the devs keep trying to squash it.

@etermes have you seen the double explosion bug (with acid or explosive Chirons, or explosives used by the player) lately?

Clarity Head, in the case of the Acid cannon, yes

I don’t “upgrade”/use Bionics for Snipers until final mission, in that case I take advantage of Nanotech bug,

I didn’t do the maths, but surely there is a double damage due to Bionics, I will check next time I play,

I wait for July update

The double damage due to bionics is OK, it’s a feature. The problem is this:

I didn’t experience it on this playthrough, so I thought it was gone, but then I read @theravengod post.
