Fully agreed with most of points - LOS doesnt always work as one would expect,
return fire sometimes does not work as expected (esp. when a group of soldiers with return fire are present and one is shot at- aliens seems to make much better use of it)
Overwatch yes, sometimes enemies can pass through, and speaking even of latest game hotfix with no DLCs.
Making better use of terrain or better knowledge what is real protection in terms of heavy fire or even launchers seems to need learning curve on the harder way.
I propose making combination of official tickets and good bug reports, that is best one can do.
These things needs to improve, rest is cosmetics to it.
