Fig backer here, who has been playing the game with xbox game pass because I really didn’t want to start using epic client for a single game 
Having fun with game (and interesting how it has changed over the patches) but looking forward to buying game from steam with all dlc.(since pretty sure backers didn’t get steam key or do I remember wrong?)

December 3rd is your date, game gets released on Steam. Being a Fig Backer also means you receive either a Steam or GOG key

@samshell is right. Just some specification:
3rd of December is the date when the Epic Games 1-year exclusivity period ends. The steam release will probably not happen exactly on the 3rd of December but shortly after. For sure in December.
People who backed or pre-ordered Phoenix Point before the Epic Games exclusivity was announced (March 2019) will receive automated e-mails with their Steam keys shortly before the Steam release.

Maybe a stupid question, but is there a chance to switch from Epic to Steam for a normal buyer of the game?

I think that you are not the only one who would like it but I do not think so. The reason why we are giving both Epic and Steam to the backers is that we advertised that the game will be released on Steam straight away and there was no mention of Epic. People who bought after March 2019 knew that the game will be released on Epic.

I’ve seen other answers with GoG mentioned, yes. This was just a question about Steam release, but could’ve mentioned both for clarity in the answer.

That might be so, but I was screwed by Snapshot’s partners before, and I don’t take chances with official-staff responses anymore
