Give the Piranha AR Researchable Ammo

THIS IS A MORE DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PROPOSAL WITH THE SAME NAME IN THE FEEDBACK TOOL

One way of giving PP a Research identity different to the Factiions & making the Piranha AR more interesting and relevant would be to give it mission &/or Panda-specific ammo types discovered through Autopsies & Vivisection.

The simple & obvious ones are Dum-Dums, AP Rounds & Shredders, but A/Vs could open up a whole world of interesting possibilities:

Shield-Buster Rounds designed to break an Arthron’s shield.
Tracker/Dye Rounds designed to neutralise Pain Chameleon.
Ulysses Rounds designed to sap a Siren’s WP
Poison/Incendiary/Goo & Blaster Rounds gained by Vivisecting the relevant Chiron.
Suppressor Rounds designed to prevent Mist-Creatures from triggering.
Neurotoxin Rounds
Stunner Rounds
Midwife Rounds that stop a Scylla laying a Mindfragger next turn
Gagging Rounds that stop a Scylla’s Mindblast
And so on…

This has the multiple advantages of giving PP a unique research identity, keeping Piranha ARs relevant in the endgame, making A/Vs more rewarding and giving the player interesting tactical choices when prepping for a mission.

There is more real and common round devs could have added… Incendiary round… It really exists and ça be fire by almost any military weapon…

I know they’re somewhat pacifistic and non-combat-focused, but surely there’s some scientist with a huge Star Wars fetish or something who’s working on this shit. It also leads to the weird scenario where their more advanced weapons end up feeling less tech-y when they eventually develop them. Like, it’s weird they start out with lasers and have to develop crossbows.
