Simply put, it was useless.
- jump 3-4 tiles is insignificant.
- can;t jump over walls, cant jump to rooftops…
so what is it useful for?

Truly, I expected real rocket jump range, like with heavy armor …
You can see it as “better dash animation”
Assault can dash at a longer distance with 1AP.
Heavy and Sniper can walk farther with 1 AP.
I was hoping that it could jump vertically to rooftops, like the mech on XCOM 1 (firaxis) without the AP cost.
No wonder PURE was so lame…
Must admit when I tried it I was totally underwhelmed. Waste of resources and no tactical use in it’s present form.
Same here, IMO the jump range should be increased. Maybe to half of the normal jump jet, so 10 tiles, that should also be enough to jump on higher rooftops (I suppose right now it is not possible to jump up more than one elevation because the total range is just too short).
I remember taking out all my rocket jump body armors and slapping on rocket legs on my guys instead, and not bothering to save or test it out first. Fun times when I discovered the range on first mission with them lol
