It’s more than likely GOG pushing the latest update everyone else already received.

Must be it. Before the patch I did tutorial only, and while I didn’t pay close attention to new free-aim mechanic, as at this level enemies die in one round anyway, I did note it felt very much the same.
Just played a mission, and the difference is noticable.
