Is that a knows bug?
If not, i would collect more data on next occasion and report more info here.
This would depend on the enemy and the weapon being fired.
A Triton for example has 4 arms, so can still fire a 2 handed weapon even if you disable 2 arms. It can still fire a pistol or other 1 handed weapon even if you destroy 3 arms.
