Aliens attacked one of my bases. Only defenders were vehicles, one of which was stuck in a corner, so it had almost no mobility. Sheer torture: alien turns took a long time, no meaningful defense. I would have been happy to just surrender the base, but waiting around to be annihilated was not fun at all.
i had one vehicle in the base, and 8 other soldiers, managed to beat the aliens back.
