I think that after the latest balancing patch (that addressed the DDA Spike), it could very well be worth a try. The learning curve may be a bit steep if you haven’t played through to at least mid-game.

It’s still not completely fixed however. Just be warned of that. The evolution side is fixed, but you get crazy amounts of difficult enemies later on down the line, with next to no chance of survival unless you reload the autosave and hope for better enemies.
