Phoenix Point declining player-base

No, that was actually delivered and then nerfed from player feedback. You may say it was not a complex system. But there is an evolution mechanic, and how well the player does affects how the Pandorans evolve. So no.

Come on, go on. Maybe next time you find an actual example. because your first example and you are already scratching the bottom of the barrel.

Oh god…

@MichaelIgnotus can you please explain what reactive evolution was meant to be? I don’t have patience to fight this guy and convince him of every word written here.

Ok. Give me time, as I don’t write down all those things and don’t save links to all the materials to prove something from the past. RL is also in the way - I can’t sacrifice all my free time to sit on PP forum.

The Pandoravirus can mutate living forms, and it can incorporate DNA from multiple species and clone them rapidly. You will face an alien threat that mutates and evolves new forms in response to your tactics. Our procedural generation system for the aliens can generate a huge variety of challenges and surprises for you on the battlefield.

Everything else are just your expectations. And you may say the delivered system was less complex than it should. You may say evolution does not really respond to your tactics, it ended being more shallow than that. And I agree.

But still you have already with your first example going into a feature that was delivered, but arguably not in a satisfying maner. If this is all you have, then it is what it is. An empty statement of a game that delivered 99% of what promissed. And ended being hated non-stop because for their fans because of that 1%. (and I know the game have problems but they are not content problems)

I mean apply the same standard to any other game…

So you say that this was delivered?

The problem is yes, you are right. They are all in the game but no, they are all half-baked. So most of them are in for the sake of being there.

You got bases with storages, but game just share everything with magic teleportation.
We got laboratories and factories at bases but they share each each other.
There are lore and images about the scientists like no-military crew but we don’t have them.
We got health and lib system but your soldiers libs get healed without touching to base, healing is same.
We got factions and diplomacy as content, but it’s like a joke as you can do anything to them but still can be alliance with some pandoran base raids.
We don’t have enough enemy types promised at start. We did not get promised horror based pandorans but the smily ones.
They promised about ancients… we got them as a terrible DLC…
They promised a air combat… we got them as a bad DLC…

Yes we got everything, but no we don’t have anything… We got a car but with 2 wheels… Do you still think you got a car? I don’t…

Yes. It was. Or really you were expecting DNA being actually coded into the game. A pool of fenotypes are. So again yes.

So how many species we have there incorporated, and how they respond to our tactics? Please elaborate as I must be blind of something. Maybe I have broken files and don’t see one of the features.

And the game has ancients.

And the game has air combat.

How many species were promissed?, do you even know how many traits have been coded?

So again a pointless claim. Subjective expectations are just that. And honestly none of these are really among the problems the game has.

So again, your claims are not accurate, are they?

Do you read all the posts or only the parts you quote… because you are acting like a good politician now with only getting some words from peoples speech and use them like something else.

If you wanna do it, there is no point to discuss something with you and you don’t need to lose time with speaking with us…

This is acting fair and arguing about what is important, instead of twisting the facts to claim the promissed content was not delivered, when it objectively was. As I said subjective expectations are just that.

Now you may think. It is reasonable to expect a better air combat than any other strategy game out there. Instead I think delivering air combat better than the air combat of XCOM1 with a fraction of the resources is a remarkable success. And I think the ancients conted is actually wonderful. Our opinions dont agree here, and? That is why subjective opinions are totally useless here.

The objective fact is that pretty much all the promissed content was delivered. And therefore, SG did a fairly good job fullfilling all their promisses. Even If I may dislike how some of that content turned out to be. That is called honesty in my book.

Good for you.

Satisfied? I don’t care.

It should be nice to have some fans like you who can be satisfied with so simple, half-baked, shallow things.

EA got many people like you to sell same FIFA for 3 years…

What traits?

It doesn’t matter how many were promised. We have Arthrons, Tritons, Sirens, Chirons and Scylla. 5 species. How something like that can be considered responce to any tactic? And they show up despite what player is doing. So there is no responsive evolution.

They are accurate. There is no responsive evolution. And you can’t explain if it is there. So your point is innacurate.

Well what I care is about dishonesty. You can claim all thay long you dont like some stuff in the game. And I may even agree with you. But If you claim the content that was delivered was not, then you are being dishonest.

That is the thing, false claims are pointless and dishonest. And if your point is you dont care. Good for you, but not really.

Ok, let me explain it to you.

A phenotypic trait is an observable, and measurable characteristic from the expression of genes. Examples of a phenotypic traits are hair colors, behavior, morphology (e.g., body height and composition), physiology (e.g., blood pressure), cellular characteristics , biochemical components (toxicity), and others.

Man… you got some problems about understanding.

I said yes they delivered them but half-baked.

Let me try to explain more simple for you:

You wanted a pizza and pizza DELIVERED to you. You open the box and I saw a round shaped dough without anything on it. Would you accept it nicely? It’s delivered for sure.

You are the one who would accept it and eat it happily without any problem. It’s good enough for you. BUT not me…

There is no dishonest here. As I said you are a EA fan who got no problem to play same FIFA for 3 years and give the full money for them every year… There are so many like you out there.

And I said half backed is a subjective claim. And I dont think it was. Which leaves again with a pointless statement.

A more apropiate comparision is, you wanted a pizza and pizza DELIVERED to you. But you wanted a bigger pizza with more ingredients, despite not ordering any size or specific ingredients. So you eat the pizza and claim no pizza was delivered to you.

Would you eat it as there is pizza and others are allll subjective claim?

BUT sir, you are telling me I am dishonest because something I did not say. I am not happy to be lied over me.

I would eat the pizza If I liked the pizza which was delivered, since I just ordered a pizza. Which I am also very happy to do.

You are lying you now. I never said, they did not delivered. Please learn to read then start to discuss something…

I know you did not say that, ā€œyouā€ was not singular you. But in a conversation with also other prople, were the only claim I made was that saying the promissed content was not delivered is dishonest.

And yes I ack your specific problem is not the content itself, but that you dont like it. But I started this conversation claiming that broken promises claims are not accurate, which they are not. Shifting the goal of the conversation, is beyond the point for me.

I acknowledged several times that being disappointed with the content is reasonable. But saying SG did not deliver the promised game is not.

Yes, they delivered the promised content but I’m unsatisfied with it, therefore the promised game was not delivered, is dancing with the words to shift the actual claim.
