Why is there no key for this? Or have I just missed it?

I suppose because it is easy to press tab and Shift tab to cycle and get back to your soldier. Or just click his icon on the left side of the screen. But who knows maybe there will be dedicated button for that.
Alternatively you can click the icon on the left side, I know it’s not a hotkey but better then nothing
