Something like that came out for me.
Interesting. And of course this works in every direction, so you can hit like that any alien in base with this powerful cannon - you just need to calculate where they are.

There is another alien base where you can see the top queen around the first corner with the sniper. If you have 2-3 snipers you can finish the mission with out covering 3/4 of the map.
