I started to play X-Com way back in the early 1990s on the Nintendo that I would rent from the local video store for a weekend. This is before the PC was a common item in the home. It sometimes takes me months to finish a simple game as I only get to play a very few hours a week.
I am a very casual player as I work a lot and do not have a lot of time to dedicate to playing games. So, I usually do use cheat codes and such to allow me to cram 10 hours of playing time into 2 hours of real-life time.
I know that this *isses off a lot of hard-core gamers. But as my work schedule will not allow me the option to play for hours at a time I have to find other means to allow me to enjoy MY game! And as my Drill Seargeant would say as I was training for the Infantry “IF you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying!”
I enjoy DDO, Fallout (have not, and most likely will not, play 76), X-com, Civilization, Tropico, and other such games. As I am a casual gamer I rarely purchase any game brand new as I just can’t justify the cost vs. the time spent playing.
I became a backer for PP in April 2018 when it was on sale because I loved X-com and wanted to support PP. I have enjoyed the game so far, but guess my system is on the low end and have found several bugs. But, I am still happy that I got the game and supported the developers when I did and when I could because I know that as time goes on PP will only get better with age!
