I liked the old system where the energy bar was done in blocks showing you your guaranteed, possible, and unlikely hit points.
Why get rid of it?
And how does the new one work?

Yeah, I have been watching some streams and solid health bar just seem very unhelpful. It seems that hitpoints overall are a bit higher? Single enemy seems to have 10+, which especially later in the game would be unhelpful to present in non numerical way. Not using manual aim seems like an even bigger guesswork then it was before.

I agree. I much preferred the blocks to the vague line, but it may be to insert an element of uncertainty into the system. I’d prefer the blocks, but I can deal with the new system.
